Here is the link to our Save The Farm campaign to protect the 3.24-acre Vendituoli Farm.

Update: We have a $50,000 matching grant in December, so if you haven’t made your donation yet, now is the time!

The farmland between Federal Road and Lincoln Avenue has been run by a single family since 1897 — and it’s for sale. Several developers want to subdivide the land for house lots. Fortunately, the Barrington Farm School and the Land Trust are making a competitive offer. But we need your financial support.

Your pledge will protect not only a working farm and beloved farm stand, but a segment of a wildlife and wetland corridor that runs through the center of town into Narragansett Bay. It teems with birds, wildlife and uniques plants. And we want to be sure it continues to serve as a groundwater recharge area that supplies drinking water and sustenance for the ecosystem.

The Farm School is preserving the history and ecology by teaching students from the High School, Middle School, St. Andrew’s and elementary schools how to farm and the value of local food. The land has many uses for learning, for wildlife habitat and for the town. So please make your pledge soon and help protect the Vendituoli Farm.
