As our second year of the NPS grant wraps up, we will continue our focus on work at the park and then elsewhere in town – wherever trail and stewardship work is needed.
Kickoff ProjectThe Trails Team kickoff project is Saturday, Oct. 6 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park.
Help improve trail entrance with stone dust around tree roots and sign. Fill and level pits along trails. Give the park a fall litter pickup and trail trimming. Bring a shovel and clippers if you have them. We will also have tools on hand. Park in back parking lot of eastern entrance (beyond Bayside Y)
Meet at sign kiosk at back parking lot.
Lombardi Park Land Trust Fall Stewardship Project will be held Saturday, Oct. 13, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Help remove invasive plants and move the brush from the park to roadside for pickup. Check out the new bench, entrance steps, ‘native’ plantings and the fall view of the pond. Bring a rake and clippers if you have them. We will also have tools on hand. Park off road at North Lake Drive at the small town park just beyond the bike path crossing. Walk west along bike path to Lombardi Park entrance.
For All Projects: Dress for the day’s weather. Long pants, gloves and sturdy shoes are recommended. Insect repellent is advisable year-round for tick protection. Steady rain will cancel. For more information, please contact Helen Tjader: firstname.lastname@example.org or 401-480-8329.
