King Philips Seat
October 26th: 2-4 p.m. Hosted by Jennifer Bristol with Guest Speaker Helen Tjader

Step back in time and retrace the footsteps of Metacomet, a.k.a King Philip, Sachem of the Wampanoag Nation. The chair is a natural niche in the granite outcropping along the easterly base of Mount Hope. This was the site of Philip’s many councils and audiences.

The historical tour will take a little over 60 minutes and all children must be accompanied by an adult. The walk will be a little over one mile on both paved and grassy surfaces, with some incline. These conditions would not be suitable to wheelchairs or walkers.

All tours will occur rain or shine. Coffee and cocoa will be served after each event. No reservation needed.
