Rebuilding Rhode Island’s Purple Martin Colonies

Demonstration and Talk by Raymond Marr – two dates in June.

Come for a firsthand demonstration of nesting Purple Martins by Ray Marr and learn about his successful voluntary work rebuilding Rhode Island’s Purple Martin colonies. During Ray’s demonstration and talk he’ll lower the units for some nest checks allowing participants to see many nests with eggs and tiny chicks.

Meet at the Barrington High School and car pool to Rehoboth as parking is only possible along the road. Participants will walk in to the farm via a long driveway.

There are also bobolinks, barn swallows and bluebirds at this site.

To guard against ticks at both sites insect repellant is highly recommended.
