Visual and literary artists of all abilities are invited to join us for a casual nature journaling afternoon at Osamequin Nature Preserve on Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 1 pm. Open meadows, shorelines and forest paths provide endless opportunities for artistic interpretation. There’s plenty of parking and wide, well-maintained trails. We’ll meet at 1 pm to orient you to this 42-acre preserve. Then you can find the perfect spot to observe the autumn wonders.

REGISTER FOR NATURE JOURNALING

What to bring: Bring your own journal, pens, pencils, watercolors, easels, camera or whatever supplies fit your artistic practice. You may wish to bring a folding chair, reusable water bottle and snack.

What to wear: Dress for the weather, including sturdy shoes and layers to protect against sun, cold or wind. You may wish to bring sunscreen or bug spray. We recommend long pants with long socks that can pull up over the hem of your pants to provide extra protection against ticks. We will have tick spray available if you need it.

Directions: Osamequin Nature Preserve is located on the northbound side of Rte. 114, approximately one mile north of the intersection of County Road and Massassoit Ave, in Barrington, RI. There is a parking area off 114 and the preserve is marked with a sign. Be careful as you enter and exit the parking area, as traffic moves quickly along 114.
